Hello
we have an 83 380sl, we arent getting any power to the fuel pump. We are trying to find the relay but we dont know where it is located? Also we dont know which fuse is for the fuel pump, can anybody help?
the engine does start when fuel is sprayed into the manifold.

The fuel pump relay is located behind the passenger side kick panel, above the fuse box. Run a search, there are threads with photos of the relay set. There is no fuse for the pump, just a relay.

On my 1983 380SL the "Electronic Fuel Pump Relay" is located behind the glove compartment box. It's labelled 5500/min8Zyl.12V 898229Kickdown. It has 7 terminals. I removed the glove compartment box for easier access, but one could probably reach up behind the glove compartment area and pull it up and out of the socket. It's the smaller black relay box located to the right of the larger black "Idle Speed Control Unit." I've been searching for it and finally located it in my CD manual and in the car.
I found the replacement (7 terminals) on Rockauto.com The one listed is made by Uro. I'm not familiar with Uro. It seems too cheap at $34.79, but it's the only one listed that has 7 terminals like mine. It also says it has a 5,500 RPM cut off which I am guessing corresponds to the 5500 on my existing relay.
I decided to go to autohausaz.com and pick up one. It's a bit more expensive at $71.49 and is a Kaehier, but I need to be a bit economical. Some have said Kaehier parts are not the best quality. I'll give it a try.

Just FYI I had this problem and swapped out the relay with no success, I had to jiggle the connections -behind- the relay, MB connections sometimes corrode, I don't know what I jiggled that made it work but I suspect it was the ground wire...when I was restoring my car I ended up having to clean countless connections, hundreds.
Just in case swapping the relay doesn't work, something to consider, I made sure the relay was good by swapping it into other places to verify it wasn't the relay.

I was not here in 07 but the OPs use of "we" is hilarious.

You won't get power unless you are actively cranking the engine. No power with just ign on.
The relay will be on the panel next to the door on the passenger side if US version.
You can find this information on this site. Look at the sticky on the top of the forum
